popcorn and m&m’s

Even though I favour the books over the films, I am still a little bit excited to see the final Harry Potter film, which was released yesterday. I will admit I didn’t care for the last few, but I have hopes they didn’t mess it up, and from what I’ve been hearing it sounds as though I won’t be disappointed. I only wish I didn’t have to wait another week to see it.

A film that’s exceeded expectations recently? Or one you were disappointed with?

  1. I’ll be going, but as you said, I haven’t been wild about the last ones. Still, sort of feel that it’s one of those pop-cultural check points, so I’ll line up with the rest.

  2. It can’t be worse than the last one, and the second part of the 7th book is where all the action happens, so I’m hopeful.

  3. I’m quite thrilled for the new Harry Potter as well. I missed seeing Hogwarts and quiddich in the last one.

The last film that exceeded my expectations was Bridesmaids. I saw it very early in its run before I had heard much buzz and it made me laugh far more than I expected it to.

  4. Not seeing Hogwarts definitely made it less enjoyable.

That was quite a surprise hit, wasn’t? So glad I took your advice and saw that one. Haven’t laughed that hard at a film in a long time.

  5. I was definitely happy with Deathly Hallows Part II. There is plenty of Hogwarts, which definitely helped, and it has been such a long time since I last read the books that I could actually sit down and enjoy the film for what it was rather than whinge about all the details they got wrong. A very impressive way to bring the Potter saga to its cinematic end. And I was really happy that Neville had his chance to be the bad ass mofo he truly is =)

  6. Yeah, I haven’t read the book since it came out, so I don’t think I’ll be too fussy over details, which tends to ruin the experience. I can’t wait to see it. Going this Friday!!
