the white death

that’s what they were calling the snow storm on the radio this morning.

a bit melodramatic, methinks.

however, it did take me 6 hours to make it home from mississauga…normally a two and a half hour drive. and i’ve shoveled our U shaped (pain in the butt) driveway and path twice already, the goal is to remain inside until i absolutely have to leave now.

as inside is nice and toasty and filled with apple cider, and lots of mail! i was greeted with a few packages from england today, and a lovely present from one of my oldest blog buddies, alana, and a card from everyone’s favourite zombie. lovely send off for the holidays, and i haven’t sent out a damn thing. shameful. my apologies. i opted not to do cards and the like this year, too many things going on and i figured postcards would be better – i’m here and you’re not. bah-ha! ;)

well, i do have some lovely street art to show you, and i will as soon as i unpack, do laundry and pack again. oh and bake, something. suggestions?

but before i do that, a song i  just discovered as three of my favourite music bloggers sited it in their top songs of 2008…video is brill too!

Yay for Fleet Foxes!! Claymation is always a welcome thing imo, I use to love watching those old Ray Harryhausen claymation creatures in the Sinbad movies and such.

  2. Great song, going to have to search out the album now.

I too enjoy claymation. I believe I watched a few of those films at school, although my favourite is the Rudolph, The Red Nose Reindeer. I was in a store the other day and happened across the figurines too.

  3. I’ve been meaning to track down Fleet Foxes a bit more, so thanks for the reminder. That was a great video, too.

Glad you made it home. Shortbread cookies are always welcome at this time of year, plus they are easy to make. Unless of course you insist on decorating them scandalously. That takes time.

  4. I haven’t searched online yet, if I do, I will send it to you. :)

I haven’t made any shortbread this year, as you say, its time consuming, but I love a good shortbread. I had maple shortbread this week and it was divine!
