high above the water

so this is kinda cool.

although my first response was a cringe. i’ve since loosened the jaw muscles.

i’m being profiled for a national publication about my profession.

curators under 40…or something like that. the title of the piece, not the magazine. i was recommended for the profile,  but i have no idea where the recommend came from. the plot thickens.

in even better news?

i get to help design two more street art pieces, after the success of last years. huzzah!

receive any good news today?

p.s. you should go and listen to this.

oh, i needed some sunshine

the view from my balcony. you can’t really tell how deep it is, but trust me when i say it’s the most i’ve ever seen in the valley.

there is calm silence in the air, as no one here wanders out in this.

i plan to take a walk shortly, because i know the rain will wash it away soon.

even though things are calm, and peaceful outside, i am a bit sad that i’ll be missing my class today as i can’t get into the city.

ah well, there is soup and cookies to be made.

any surprises to your day?

currently…

watching some animal planet type show on mute. it’s about hippos. i find these shows more fun to watch on mute. apparently, no one can outrun a hippo. didn’t know they were so dangerous.

still smiling over my impromptu lunch meet-up with a co-worker.

amazed it’s snowing, although the snow isn’t really lasting, it is still very uncommon for  this time of year.

putting the final touches on a care package that’s going overseas tomorrow.

wishing black caffeine free tea tasted like normal tea. it’s a good thing rooibos tea is caffeine free. mmm honeybush caramel.

wondering if i should make kosherie for dinner or couscous.

thinking today needs some Seinfeld.

currently…you are?

weekly, monthly, same thing

Some questions for you dear friends on this chilly eve. I am not certain spring is just around the corner.

Which of the four seasons do you most anticipate?

If you could bring one character to life from your favorite book, who would it be? Why?

You can select one person from history and ask them a question to which they must give a thruthful reply. Whom would you select, and what question would you ask?

If you could be any age again for one week, what age would you be?

What song always makes you happy when you hear it?

What is your quirkiest habit?

What was your favourite word this month?

multicolour paperclips

tomorrow i get to do something a little bit out of the ordinary.

for my work day that is.

i’m helping judge a “history fair” at one of the local schools, alongside some political suits and my boss. you remember science fairs in elementary school? similar to that but about local history; they get to create a project on a subject of their own choosing, and i think it’s an interesting way to get kids excited about history besides just reading it out of a text.  i believe the age range is gr. 4-7 and i’m kind of hoping i see some gems like this picture that was sent to me after the last round of gr. 2′s visited the museum. i was chuffed to realize they did listen.

anything out of the ordinary happen to you this week?

i’m the fire on the mountain you have lit up in your dream

three things that perplexed me today…

why does everyone keep saying its a long weekend? i have to work tomorrow, and i’m not aware of a stat.

why granville island was so packed today. you’d think we’d just had three months of straight rain or something. okay, that one doesn’t really count i guess.

the word squash. hating saying it, hate eating it and especially hate having to write about it. it is not a pleasant sounding word.

the hundreds of birds i saw this afternoon when i was getting onto granville highway. thought i was stuck in a hitchcock picture. i wonder if birds have always been plenty, and now i am just noticing them more because of angry birds. yeah, i wonder. if i start seeing moustache pigs…

three things you’ve pondered today, or that have perplexed you?

things i loved today

my Skype date with my good friend Todd. he brought wine, and hilarious conversation.

putting on jeans straight from the dryer.

homemade coconut macaroons, with a cherry on top.

that i almost lasted a whole day without getting a migraine.

mango aloe vera juice.

listening to Tattoo You on my record player having dinner.

looking at the page and having the words flow out.

sketching a card. then drawing the sketch.

things or something you loved today?
