I’ve been tagged by the resident Zombie, and while I didn’t implement Barb’s hilarious teddy bear rule this is my attempt at compiling my top 15 sexiest male musicians.
I tend not to pay too much attention to what my favourite artists look like, and I realize this meme isn’t asking for my favourite arists, just the “sexiest” ones. However, I can’t disassociate that easily, the ones that made my list are artists who get regular workouts in my itunes.
Billie Joe Armstrong – I’ve loved him since I was a teen but its really the eyeliner that puts him so high up on the list these days. I think the world needs another Green Day album, and soon.
Spencer Krug – I may have mentioned my love of Mr. Krug before. Perhaps once or twice. I was gutted when I missed out on catching Wolf Parade in concert last year, but I’m certain sometime in the near future I will get to bask in the glory of his eclectic voice.
Matt Good - He seems to have matured considerably in recent years, but in the late 90s he definitely had the bad boy rocker vibe down. Traded it in for specs and more acoustics, but this is one musician who always has spoken his mind and I find that incredibly sexy.
Jack White – The only name on the list who I saw before I heard the music. The White Stripes were playing an I&I at MuchMusic and I remember sitting in my living room at uni with my housemates and being completely taken with Jack. Part of me thinks its a pale assimilation thing.
Wayne Coyne - Suits are hot and I don’t think I’ve ever seen Mr. Coyne without one. Not to mention The Flaming Lips are one of the three artists I want to see before I die.
Anthony Kiedis – Its one crooked tooth. I know its crazy, but the complete truth.
Ben Kowalewicz & Conor Oberst - I like guys who share the same fringe sytle as I do.
Sufjan Stevens - Ah, he’s so dreamy. That is all.
Jakob Dylan – I never really listened to The Wallflowers but I remember the video for Three Marlenas because I had a friend who was obsessed and I remember watching Jakob walk out of the ocean, water dripping off…yeah I was sold.
Andrew Bird – Whimsical and thought provoking lyrics and the man rocks a scarf like no other.
Wayne Petti - Harmonica, plaid, specs and is one of the most standout artists I’ve ever seen in concert.
K-OS – I have such an intellectual and physical crush on Kevin Brereton. Plus, hands down one of the best concerts I saw in 2006.
Albert Hammond Jr. – My favourite member of The Strokes, his solo effort was not half bad either, but he really makes the list because of his hair. I’m in awe.
Richard Ashcroft - I respect the sunglass wearing.

Glad to see Billie Joe atop the list. The eyeliner definitely makes him uber sexy. I also agree with Jakob Dylan.
Anthony Kiedis, though… Hmmm, not so much.

You definitely have some excellent choices on that list! However, you’re missing a crucial musician: Mr. Bowie. Total sex, even today.

Is it just eerie coincidence that Green Day started playing on my computer as I clicked over here? Somehow I doubt it.
Thanks loads for playing along and for compiling such a thought-provoking and delightful to the eye list. I was actually waffling with adding Andrew Bird as well, but when you have to stop at 15… And I am so happy to see wee Wayne Petti on the list. I felt badly for failing him on the teddy bear test. And Wayne Coyne – also a nice choice, he truly rocks the suit.

Currently in layover hell and my friends tell me its snowing in Newcastle. WTF? Not impressed.
Maggie: He was on my list, but got bumped for Wayne Coyne. He is total sex though, I agree. :)
