Cuz one day when she goes, she’s gone

My dog doesn’t recognize me. Or if she does she’s playing coy.

My parents are watching CNN.

My brother welcomed me at the airport.

And there’s no snow.

Its like I’ve stepped into another universe. Except I still can’t work the remote, so some things never change.

I finished reading Stephen King’s Blaze today on the plane. It was a great read and one of the things that struck me most when reading was this overall theme of mentoring. In the novel this existed in good and bad ways, but it was compelling to read how the main characters life was shaped by those around him, which is very much the case for us too in our everyday lives.

As I waited for the plane to taxi on runway after finishing the book I thought of all the people who have had a great impact on my life, who made me see things from a different angle, challenged me fully. There are a standout few who definitely make the top five. If I can recover from the time difference I’ll get my stuff together and post on one tomorrow.

What about you?

  • Welcome home!

There’s definitely snow here in London. I’m sure it’ll be waiting for me in TO as well.

    See you soon?

  • Mentors, I’ve had a few. Anyone who could get me past math phobia is some kind of hero, I think.

DOgs can be ever so coy. She’ll forget about it in a couple of days, I’ll bet.

  • Maggie: You’re in London for how long? I should meet you there…haha. Of course, when I know my plans for certain I will pass them along. Have to book a train ticket.

Barb: Yeah, I had a teacher who helped me get over my public speaking phobia. Instant hero.

I’m hoping so, she’ll still hiding from me. Silly girl.

  • Oh I’m leaving Londonia today. Must get back to my play (we’re having a bit of a crisis with it, I’ll explain later).

If you did want to leave Sarnia today, you’d be welcome to catch a ride to TO… but we’re leaving at 12:30/1ish. There will also be a cat in the car, so it might not be the best idea. ;)

  • i woke up to snow yesterday! but it’s all gone now.

i think your puppy is playing coy. perhaps more cookies will help.

  • Maggie: Just emailed ya. Looking forward to seeing you! :)

668: She came around, just wanted my full attention. Sitting peacefully in my lap now as I type. :)
