Well I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know. I hope so.

Decided to take the afternoon off and I went to the coast today.

You can view my photos from the day here. I made it there pretty late, so some are dark and did not turn out that well.

Last time I went to the coast was with a group of friends, yet it was nice just to wander by myself today. The sand was soft and once I sat down it was hard to get up again. You kind of loose yourself in the vastness of the space, just watching the waves hit the shore. It wasn’t even that cold, about 8C (46F) and a warm wind.

Here are a few snaps in case you don’t feel like clicking over to Flickr.

The fish tasted much better than it looks. Whoever thought a miniature fork is adequate for eating a piece of fish twice the size of your hand…well, you were wrong. Its not. Good thing I carry klennex with me.

It felt good to get out of the city and enjoy the fresh salt air. I’m glad I took the day off, feeling less blue. I’m not sure why, but Saturdays lately have been really bad for me. Perhaps a little salt was all I needed.

I am going to settle in now and watch Basquiat. Looks intriguing.

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday.

Thank you for this. It made my night! I learned, laughed, and cried while reading it. Actually. that’s a lie. But I did learn and laugh!

I shall be optionally tagging myself, but I doubt I can offer a comparably entertaining list as mine will mention neither Jon Lovitz or salad coming to life. ;)

    Lovely pics from the coast!

  • Ah, you caught me mid post! I was editing, but decided to do the 100 Things in one go instead. Think of it was your going away gift for the week, you probably won’t get to comment when I post the final one.

I look forward to your post!

  • It sounds like a wonderful afternoon. :)

  • It was nice and peaceful. Although now I’m blue again after watching Basquiat. End credits had “Hallelujah” over them too.

  • What a wonderful-looking spot, it’s so open, yet intimate and it looks like a place where one can really breath. Does the town area have a name?

Basquiat was such a good film, as I recall, and oddly the fabulous film I watched the other night, The Edukators (Die Fetten Jahre Sind Vorbei) had Hallelujah over the last 5 minutes – Jeff Buckley version. But a very unlifting film, if you want a recommendation.

I hope the salt air continues to work its magic on you.

  • Barb,
Tynemouth is the part of the coast I was at. Very lovely, I can’t wait to visit it in the summer.

I really enjoyed Basquiat, I am glad I watched it. I read your review, and I am looking forward to watching The Edukators. :)
