this time of night

I’m sick.

I hate being sick. It started Friday with a sore ear. I woke up repeatedly last night trying to hydrate my throat. I can’t even blame it on the alcohol as I had one drink last night, and one the night before. My friend Anna too is sick, and we’ve spent most of the weekend together, so I blame her.

Its just rather annoying as I have work to do, but my body feels as though its been run over by a train, or at the very least a large truck. A large truck with snow tires and chains.

Also, I am living with elephants.

Never in my life have I heard people walk so loudly. Wait, I take that back. Collingwood house is coming screaming back to me. My upstairs neighbours too were elephants and used to play “Dragostea Din Tei” also known as the “Numa Numa” song at the loudest volume while wrestling.

Fuck. That song is not going to leave my head now. Apologies if I got stuck in yours.

Quick, what’s a good Sunday listening album?

  • Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that you’re sick. And you’ve got so much to do as well.

Frankly I am surprised that you took the video fo the numa numa guy that I posted a while ago with such good grace, given your history with that song, but getting away from the noise of others is one reason I am forever grateful that I am no longer in an apartment. I used to hate that! And I’m sure my neighbours hated my noise equally, although I did try to stay away from wrestling too much.

The new Radiohead is excellent Sunday morning listening, as is Great Lake Swimmers. And Faunts. Anything sort of moody and introspective.

  • Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Howl is a great sunday morning record. I also really enjoy any Bob Marley and Mile Davis – Kind of Blue on a sunday.

    Hope you feel better.

  • Ooooooooooh no! I hope you feel better soon Al! Can you get flu shots there? I am getting mine as soon as they become available.

  • Oh no. Oh, I certainly do hope it’s a quick illness and doesn’t hang about for awhile. Take care of yourself. I’ll write you a long newsy email after work.

  • Barb,
Yeah, this controversy project I was telling you about has been nicely kicking my ass today. The drumming in my head has decreased to a dull roar though, I shall survive…can just feel the sinus filling up though.

Haha…I was in a good mood that day. Plus, it is kind of funny watching others sing it…just no wrestling ;)

Radiohead is making for a good time today, yes.

    Fearless,
Howl is a good record for a Sunday, yes. I’ll have to put it in soon, I’m going to see them in a few weeks.

Thanks, I plan on taking something soon to knock me out for the night.

    Mel,
I’m not really a fan of the flu shot, but I think you can get them here. I think. I’m going to the doctor soon, I shall have to ask, might not hurt to try.

    Toccata,
Just the beginning and I think its an ear infection, so I shall see how I feel tomorrow and then go get it checked out.

Look forward to your email :)

  • No suggestions, but it seems that I am sick too, or getting there, so you have my sympathy!

  • Aww, hope you start to feel better!! My throat is on fire.
